Family First Aid for parents, grandparents and other relatives and babysitters

Course duration: 4 hours

Certification: Certified attendance, also CPD certified

Minimum age: 14 years

First aid is not difficult to learn or deliver and this course follows through from immediately life threatening conditions like cardiac arrest to less urgent problems like minor injuries. You never know when something could happen to someone in your family, so learning now will prepare you to deal with an emergency situation should it arise.

The course aims are to give an understanding of the needs of a family. It covers primary and secondary care skills for adults, infants and children. Knowing what to do in an emergency is an excellent life skill to learn and the course covers many subjects that you may come across.

Also see our 'First Aid for the Appointed Person' or 'Paediatric' courses if you want a broader range of skills or need it for work purposes. This course is good for:

No babysitter? Need to feed? Don't worry. It is a very informal session. Please feel free to bring along your charges as well. They are more than welcome on the course. All we ask is:

  1. You let the Trainer know in advance
  2. They are your responsibility
  3. If they become distracting / noisy / need feeding or changing, you might want to take some Time Out with them outside the room in consideration of the other attendees.
  4. If they are old enough, encourage them to join in. You never know when it may come in handy!
