Online and Blended Courses Available

The HSE has approved the use of online learning for part or all of certain First Aid Courses. This can work out cheaper for you and also allows you to fit in that part of the Training around your schedule.

There are two types of online course:-

1. Fully online. e.g. Pet First Aid or Appointed Person courses can be taken in this way.

2. Blended. This is where the first (often background / theoretical) part of the course is taken online and the practical part is taken in a Classroom. The Online part involves watching a series of videos covering the various topics then answering multiple choice questions after each.

Workplace First Aid

Appointed Person. This course has all but disappeared from the classroom after recent HSE changes, being replaced with the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. However if you have a Workplace where there is no requirement to have a First Aider, this course will suffice. This course can be completed 100% online unlike the other workplace courses as it is designed to give an employee a basic understanding of First Aid requirements and basic treatments.

Paediatric First Aid

Paediatric First Aid consists of a 6-hour or 12-hour course. The 12-hour course is the one intended to meet Ofsted requirements. Whilst the Classroom-only course mixes theory and practical each day, you can also split this course to do the theoretical side online and the practical side in a Classroom, so only 1 day is needed in the Classroom. For small nurseries that fnd it difficult to release staff, this is a good compromise.

Pet First Aid

When people think of first aid, they often do not think about their pets. Pets have accidents the same as humans and knowing what to do should the worst happen is a simple thing to learn with basic training. Pet first aid is not intended to replace veterinary care but it will help you to recognise an emergency, calm your pet and reduce the risks of delayed treatment.
