This course is suitable for anyone wishing to do a Basic Life Support course that also includes the use of a Defibrillator. It teaches the essential skills needed to confidently use a defibrillator as well as how to perform effective Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
It is suitable for healthcare Professionals as part of their Annual Skills refresher
Topics include; basic life support, primary survey, dealing with collapse, CPR, AED function, AED procedure [adult/child], practice safely using an AED, roles, responsibilities and reporting. We use a number of different types of defibrillator in order to allow the user experience in some of the different types that are available.
Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical and the qualification is assessed by tutor observation of candidate performance.
This course follows the UK Resuscitation Council’s Guidelines for Adult basic life support and automated external defibrillation
