Using Powerpoints on courses

Using Powerpoints on courses

4 Minutes is not prescriptive about whether or not you use Powerpoints as everyone teaches differently.

Some Trainers don’t use any. Some (like me) use them for prompting & photos / videos where it is better to get a message across visually. Some are happy to use the whole suite, especially when new to a course or to being a Trainer. Personally I have used fewer & fewer over the years and certain courses are Powerpoint-free. Each to their own.

4 Minutes has a branded Powerpoint available to any Trainer delivering a 4 Minutes course. You can access it here:

Latest version is dated 31st August 2024.

If you know how to create and use Custom Slideshows please use the inbuilt ones or create your own. It will be a bad learner experience if you have to scroll through the whole lot during a course to find individual slides & will look very unprofessional.

Some Ground Rules:

  • They are Copyright 4 Minutes and/or Qualsafe. The deck is based on the Qualsafe Powerpoint and has been customised. Some slides are completely 4 Minutes design. Because of this they are only to be used for a 4 Minutes Training course that gives out a Qualsafe Book to each learner. Any other use is forbidden and a breach of Copyright.
  • As the above, do not use them for courses that you are delivering for non 4 Minutes courses and do not share the deck with other trainers unless explicitly agreed in writing by 4 Minutes.
  • Do not change any slide. If you see an error or have a suggestion, by all means run it past Andy first.
  • The password will change from time to time, so if you need an up to date copy, do ask for the latest password.
  • Download your own copy for use locally. It’s a large Powerpoint as it includes some video options. Powerpoint struggles to display it via an Internet connection & you might have a dodgy or zero connection on site anyway.
  • Do not use your own Powerpoint if it has any of your (or other third party) Branding, You are representing 4 Minutes. Make a white label version if you do want to use yours. This is common courtesy if you are freelancing for anyone.

As usual, contact Andy if you have any questions.
