This 1-day combination course allows you to take any of these courses, all with the option of a +F (Forestry) or SIA Life-threatening bleed add-on. They are all run together on the same day. You choose which to Book on the Booking Form.
Emergency First Aid at Work
This 6-hour (1 day) course is for small and low risk Businesses. It is also suitable for instructors and trainers that run small classes. e.g. yoga, swimming and martial arts teachers.
Emergency First Aid at Work for School staff
This 6-hour (1 day) course is for staff working within Schools to meet the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work HSE requirements.
For the above qualifications without any add-ons the course will finish at 4.30pm.
Emergency Paediatric First Aid
This is a 1-day entry level course for anyone looking after children but do not need the full 2-day OFSTED Paediatric course.
Typically this would be for supernumerary nursery staff, Nannies and Au Pairs, activity organisers and parent/child club leaders although babysitters, parents and grandparents would also find this course suitable
The additional Paediatric requirements are covered from 4.30 pm. You still need to attend the rest of the day from 0930
Add-ons
+F Forestry
This is an add-on to either of the above courses. It is not available as a standalone qualification. It is for people wishing to work with trees – tree felling, chainsaw use etc and meets Forestry England’s requirements. Note that it is not the same as ‘Forest School’. That is a different qualification.
SIA add-on – Life-threatening bleeds and Airway
For those taking this qualification to meet SIA requirements, you need this add-on. A separate Certificate will be issued. This is an optional add-on for any other learner. It covers the treatment of life-threatening bleeds including haemostatic dressings and tourniquets, as well as maintaining an Airway for suspected spinal injury casualties.
All add-on topics are covered from 4.30 pm. You still need to attend the rest of the day from 0930
All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2013 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent 2016 changes. The EFAW course fully meets the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements.
All courses are run in parallel on the day and you can gain a certificate in whichever qualification(s) that you Booked & paid for. All Certificates are emailed to whoever Booked the place after the course. Allow a few working days for this.
