This qualification is suitable for high hazard environments and working conditions that require comprehensive first aid cover such as in factories or on building sites and companies with high numbers of staff. No previous first aid experience is required to attend this course.
First Aid at Work (Blended) (18h)
This is the Blended version of the First Aid at Work qualification, so there is 6 hours online followed by two classroom days.
First Aid at Work requalification (12h)
If your Certificate is in date, you can take the requalification, which is spread over two classroom days. Proof of existing qualification is required.
Paediatric First Aid qualification – optional
If you need an Ofsted or EYFS Compliant 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate, this can be incorporated into the syllabus and all attendees that need it will receive a Paediatric First Aid Certificate as well. There is an additional fee of £20 per student for this optional qualification.
THIS NEEDS TO BE PURCHASED AT TIME OF BOOKING TO ALLOW THE QUALIFICATION TO BE REGISTERED
Students that pass will be awarded with a Level 3 First Aid at Work (VTQ *) Certificate valid for 3 years. Certificates are provided in PDF form to allow easy sharing and may be printed out for framing. * Vocational Trade Qualification. This is awarded by our Trade Body, ProTrainings.
All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2013 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent 2016 changes. The course fully meets the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements.
There are no prerequisite entry requirements for this qualification apart from a minimum of Level 2 written and spoken English
Topics include: roles & responsibilities, adult/child/infant specific treatments, dealing with collapse (with and without breathing), choking, bleeding, shock, major illnesses, torso and limb injuries, environmental effects, heat and cold injuries, using first aid kit, outdoor specific scenarios, incident management and looking after a casualty for more than 10 minutes.This course is designed to provide incident management skills. Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical, with elements occurring out of doors in outdoor clothing and on various terrains.
Minimum age for attending is 16, however there may be specific age limits within your workplace and also you need to be 17 or over to be included in staffing ratios. Check before you Book.
