Course duration

According to the specification the course is a minimum of 6 hours. We feel that in our experience this is not necessarily long enough without it feeling like a route march. In an ideal world we would look to run this over two days (12 hours) however we are also aware of the financial constraints that voluntary organisations face. We have therefore come up with the following options:

7 hours course over 1 day. This will deliver the course but with an extra hour the pace is more appropriate allowing for more practice and questions.

8 hours course over 1 day. This is exactly the same as the 7 hour course plus an extra hour to run some scenarios to allow skill practice.

We don’t deliver this course over more than one day. The syllabus is tight enough and the time lost stopping and starting eats into the teaching time too much.

Allow an extra hour for breaks and lunch for all of the above.

Add a 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

We can add on the extra topics and test required to dual certify your Leaders with a 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. This Nationally recognised qualification is needed for a low risk Workplace First Aider. Not all leaders on the course need to take it. Those that do just stay behind to complete the syllabus and to take a test. A great upsell for employed Leaders (invoice their Business for some extra income) and a cheap way of getting the Certificate for the self-employed in your Group.

£25 per person plus 45 minutes added on to end of course to cover additional material and for test

Certification

All Certificates issued are in electronic (PDF) format. They will be sent to the person (or organisation) that organised the Booking in order for them to be distributed to the student(s).

Whilst we try and maintain a fixed cost for our courses, our prices may be subject to an additional fuel charge if your location is a distance away from our nearest trainer to you.

There is a £50 supplement per day if that day is a Sunday or Bank Holiday.

    • CPR, including technique for children and an explanation of what AED is and how to use it **

    • Fractures ** (ambulance imminent and non-imminent) strains and sprains

    • Dental incidents
    • Burns
  • Major illness
    • Asthma
    • Anaphylaxis **

    • Stroke
    • Seizures
    • Diabetes
    • Sepsis / Meningitis
