The information in Standard 12 provides knowledge about the administration of basic life support. This 2-hour course covers the elements required in Standard 12 and consists of a mixture of practical assessment and theoretical examination. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured according to currently accepted first aid principles.

The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors. It’s made up of the 15 minimum standards that should be covered if you are ‘new to care’ and should form part of a robust induction programme. The Care Certificate was developed jointly by Skills for Care, Health Education England and Skills for Health.

Standard 12 syllabus:

 

12.1 Provide basic life support.

The student will be able to carry out basic life support and will complete practical Basic Life Support Training that meets the UK Resuscitation
Council guidelines.

4 Minutes will adapt the syllabus according to needs.

  • If working with Adults in health and social care they will undertake training in adult basic life support.
  • If working with Paediatric patients in health they will undertake training in paediatric basic life support.
  • If working with Newborn patients in health they will undertake training in newborn life support.

Breakdown of content:

  • Administer appropriate care to an unconscious casualty
  • Administer appropriate care to a casualty that is choking
  • Understand the need for confidentiality
  • Understand the need for record keeping

This course is delivered in-house only (or a group Booking at our premises). Contact us for further information. The cost is £25 per person, however there is a minimum charge of £200 e.g.

Certification

All Certificates issued are in electronic (PDF) format. They will be sent to the person (or organisation) that organised the Booking in order for them to be distributed to the student(s).

Whilst we try and maintain a fixed cost for our courses, our prices may be subject to an additional fuel charge if your location is a distance away from our nearest trainer to you.

There is a £50 supplement per day if that day is a Sunday or Bank Holiday.
