If you are looking for First Aid courses for Security Staff there are different types that you can take, depending on what your Security Role is.
From 1st April 2025 Security Staff must hold a First Aid qualification that meets SIA requirements.
Door Supervisors (DS) and Security Guards (SG)
DS and SG must have an in-date Emergency First Aid at Work or equivalent. See full guidelines here. As of October 2024 this must include dealing with life-threatening bleeds and opening airways. This is included (on request) when Booking a Private Group Emergency First Aid at Work course, or as a £20 + vat add-on to our public courses. In either case allow an extra 30 minutes to the course duration.
Close Protection (CP)
CP must have an in-date First Aid at Work or equivalent. See full guidelines here. As of October 2024 this must include dealing with life-threatening bleeds and opening airways. This content is included in 4 Minutes’ First Aid at Work course as standard.
