First Aid courses

Workplace Courses

Certificates last 3 years, after which you need to Requalify. The HSE recommends an Annual 4-hour Refresher course, which does not extend the original course, but allows the First Aider to refresh his/her knowledge and remain confident.

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) – 1 day (6 hour) course aimed at small Businesses and low risk Businesses as well as Trainers and coaches. To Requalify, you take the same course after 3 years.

First Aid at Work (FAW) – 3 day (18 hour) course aimed at higher risk Businesses such as Agriculture. To Requalify, you can either take the same 3-day course or, if your certificate has not expired, take a condensed 2-day FAW Requalification course.

First Aid at Work Requalification – 2 day course that can be taken when the First Aider already has a 3-day FAW Certificate that is about to expire. Although there is a small Grace period, in general, if your certificate lapses, then you will need to take the full 3-day course again.

First Aid at Work Refresher – 4 hour course that refreshes your knowledge & skills and updates you with any changes. It does not extend the duration of the original Certificate.

Paediatric courses

Certificates last 3 years, after which you need to Requalify. The HSE recommends an Annual 4-hour Refresher course, which does not extend the original course, but allows the First Aider to refresh his/her knowledge and remain confident.

Emergency Paediatric First Aid – 1 day (6 hour) course. This is a 1-day entry level course for anyone looking after children but do not need the full 2-day OFSTED Paediatric course. Typically this would be for Nannies and Au Pairs although babysitters, parents and grandparents would also find this course suitable. To Requalify, you take the same course after 3 years.

Paediatric First Aid  – 2 day (12 hour) course. This is the 2-day Ofsted, EYFS, CSSIW and SureStart compliant course.
