This week 4 Minutes delivered a combined Forest School First And Paediatric First Aid course to a number of students across a number of organisations.
What is a Forest School?
Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process, that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions. It is a long-term program that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.
Where was it held?
Host for the two days was Under the Canopy Forest School at Gerrards Cross, Bucks. This is a lovely site. Training was in a Tipi with an outside area for the practical scenarios and a short stroll on day 2 through the woods with some scenarios and observations thrown in. We mostly avoided the rain.
Training was delivered by Maxine, an experienced Forest School First Aid trainer. Students came from various different Forest Schools in the area (and further afield) as well as an outlier – 4 Minutes’ Director, Andy. This was the final piece in him getting his ticket to deliver this course.
