Before you attend your course, please read this information. If you have any questions, contact 4 Minutes before the course date.

There may be an Online element to your course. If there is, this must be completed before the Classroom part. You will receive a separate email with details on how to log in and start. Generally this only applies to ‘blended’ courses.

Identification: Please bring photographic ID such as a Driving Licence, Passport or staff ID (with photo). An image of the ID on your ‘phone is acceptable. The name on the ID should match the ID on your registration form. If it does not, let us know before the course (e.g. you have recently married or divorced and not yet updated your ID).

Registration: The room will be open approximately 30 minutes before the start. If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the start, or are late back after a break you may not be allowed to participate / complete the course.

English Comprehension: You must have a good understanding of spoken and written English. If you do not then you will not be allowed to participate. We are not assessing your spelling or Grammar, just your understanding of the topics.

Assessments: Successful completion of the course (and Certification) requires that you complete and pass all the assessed sections. Our assessment methods include continuous assessment by your Trainer, paperwork to complete during the course and there may be a written test depending upon the course taken. You must demonstrate competence in all assessed parts and may not pass if the Assessor considers that you have not met all the assessment criteria.

Age limits: If you are under 16 you may not be able to participate. Check with us first. Some courses allow younger participants – for instance family First Aid or courses deliberately aimed at learners that are under 18.

Clothing: Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes appropriate for kneeling, lying on the floor and being rolled – jeans and a polo top for instance. For outdoor courses, bring all-weather clothing and appropriate footwear. Avoid wearing make-up and perfume (especially lipstick) as it can make it harder to clean the manikins between candidates.

Mobile ‘phones and food/drink: There will be breaks. Drinks can be consumed during training, please avoid eating food. Mobiles turned off or set to ‘mute’, please. If you are waiting for a call, please discuss with your Trainer first.

Type and nature of training: First Aid is a practical skill. You must be capable of kneeling, bending, lying down, demonstrating CPR and physically moving others (e.g. into the recovery position). You will make physical contact with trainers and other students of either gender for the scenarios and assessments and be expected to participate in role play.

Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations: If you have (or think that you may have) difficulties, please contact us as soon as possible prior to the course so that we can discuss additional support. We operate a Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations Policy in line with current legislation. We may require evidence of a personal nature to validate any adjustments made. This information will be kept confidential and only released to the appropriate body if/when requested.

Data Protection: We record and store information about you to process your course application, assessment and certification and (if you agree) our Newsletter. If your course is an Accredited or Regulated course, some of this information is provided to our Awarding Organisations and Qualifications Authorities to issue your Certificate. We reserve the right to publish testimonials. We do not provide your data to other Third Parties, except as above or as required by Law and in accordance with the GDPR Act 2018. Sometimes we will photograph or film parts of a course for assessment evidence or publicity on Social Media. If you do not wish us to publish your picture, let the Trainer know at the time and we will respect your wishes.

Certificates: All our Certificates are electronic and issued within two weeks of the end of the courses (usually within a week). PDF copies will be sent to whoever Booked you on to the course. If that was you, then great. If someone else Booked you on and paid for your training they will be sent the Certificate. Please ask them for a copy.

Thank you for participating in our course. We hope that you enjoy it.
