The First Aid at Work Level 3 qualification (FAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that they require a fully trained First Aider for their workplace. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2013 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent 2016 changes. All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements.
The course lasts three years, after which the First Aider must requalify (A Refresher is a different course that just allows a First Aider to keep their skills topped up). To requalify, the First Aider has two options:
- Retake the 3-day First Aid at work course
- Take a condensed 2-day version of the course. The same syllabus is covered, however because the student already has a qualification, the syllabus can be compacted into just two days.
Note: To take the 2-day course, the First Aid qualification must still be valid or have expired within 1 calendar month of completing the course. If the certificate is more than 1 calendar month past expiry then the full 3-day course must be taken. Certificates will be checked at the start of the course.
