This is a Level 3 Accredited Qualification, recognised Nationally. When comparing prices, non-accredited qualifications are cheaper, however you need to make sure that they meet National Standards and be able to show this during an OfSTED inspection. Sometimes cheaper can be a false saving.
Blended Course
Whilst First Aid is a practical skill, all First Aid courses have elements that you do not necessarily need to be taught face to face in a classroom. For instance, in the absence of someone actually presenting with the symptoms, a lot of medical conditions can only be discussed using Powerpoints or handouts – something that can easily be done at one’s own pace outside the classroom using video.
In 2015 the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Ofsted recognised this and allowed certain courses to have an online element (all Workplace and Paediatric courses still demand a certain amount of classroom time as there will always be some aspects that cannot be taught & assessed by watching a video).
If you need a 12 hour Paediatric First Aid qualification, then you can still take it as a 2-day classroom course, however you now have the option of taking one of those days online, leaving 1 day in the classroom. This is known as a ‘Blended‘ course (as opposed to ‘Online‘ or ‘Classroom‘).
All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements and, along with day 2 in the classroom, leads to a full Ofsted / EYFS compliant Paediatric First Aid Level 3 (VTQ) qualification.
Currently these are only run as public courses in Maidenhead, Berkshire although we can organise a Group Booking for you anywhere in the UK – just ask.
We can combine this with the 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course certified by 4 Minutes. It will require additional time (30 Minutes) and cost an extra £100 plus £20 per learner for the Certificate, but it saves your staff having to attend two courses. Let us know when you enquire
